Notes for Today:
Today is due date #1 for Leader/Daughter camp, due to Karen Meno.Girls that are working on individual badges will need to complete them and inform Mandy by Wednesday, June 20. Family vacation and GS shop Summer hours limit the time I will have to get to the shop before our sleepover (July7-8) . Badges completed after this date will be awarded at the following Court of Awards. If your daughter is missing insignia from previous years as a Scout, or needs GS materials unrelated to troop expenses, I will happily pick up these items if you supply me with funds and a list.
Girls that completed the Forever Green project and registered it online: Please look through your e-mail and print out the confirmation letter. If your daughter turns the letter in to me by Wednesday, June 20 I should be able to pick up her patch. Otherwise it will be up to you to get the patch.
We will continue working on the Get Moving! Journey book, as it is the prerequisite to earning their Bronze Awards
Families with outstanding cookie balances: Please turn in the remaining funds ASAP. Money was due in March. Council will not release your child's cookie prizes until the debt has been settled. Girls without balances will receive their prizes at the Troop Sleepover. If you have questions, please contact Mandy.
General Notes:
The GSNETX Summer Reading Program has begun, and the girls can now vote for next year's cookie prizes (link to the right, in the "Challenges" section.)
We have begun working on our Adopt-a-Grandparent project. The girls will work together for each event, but seeing as Girl Scouts is a leadership development organization, individual girls have volunteered to run the various events:
Bailey R. is working on writing out a modified version of the play she did in Drama Kids.
Haley (and maybe Abbey) will be running Bingo night.
Amri will be in charge of Manicures.
Other ideas include a movie night, a flag ceremony, and taking dictation for letters to family members.
As always, don't forget to check the Troop Calendar for other upcoming activities. You can also view the GSNETX camp guide and the GSNETX event calendar for other fun Girl Scout activities! (GSNETX event calendar available in "links" section of column to the right, Camp info available in the same section or in tab at the top of page.)
