Meeting 6/11

The date is set for our Troop Sleepover/Badge Workshop (July7-8.) Girls that are working on individual badges will need to complete them and inform Mandy by Monday June 18. Family vacation and GS shop Summer hours limit the time I will have to get to the shop. Badges completed after this date will be awarded at the next Court of Awards. If your daughter is missing insignia from previous years as a Scout, or needs GS materials unrelated to troop expenses, I will happily pick up these items if you supply me with funds and a list.

Girls that completed the Forever Green project and registered it online: Please look through your e-mail and print out the confirmation letter. If your daughter turns the letter in to me by June 18 I should be able to pick up her patch.

The GSNETX Summer Reading Program has begun, and the girls can now vote for next year's cookie prizes (link to the right, in the "Challenges" section.)

We will continue working on the Get Moving! Journey book, as it is the prerequisite to earning their Bronze Awards.

We have begun working on our Adopt-a-Grandparent project. The girls will work together for each event, but seeing as Girl Scouts is a leadership development organization, individual girls have volunteered to run the various events:
Bailey R. is working on a modified version of the play she did in Drama Kids.
Haley (and maybe Abbey) will be running Bingo night.
Amri will be in charge of Manicures.
Other ideas include popcicles/flag ceremony on the 4th of July (please let me know if you won't be in town), a movie night, and taking dictation for letters to family members.

Upcoming Events: Sat 6/23 Junior Badge Workshop at the Museum of Nature and Science- (Individual Event)
Fri 6/22-Sun 6/24 Girl Scout Discounts at the Museum of Nature & Science: Receive $2 off of the General Admissions Exhibit or $5 off Child Planet Shark ticket with the purchase of Adult Planet Shark ticket (We are not going as a troop.)
Mon 6/25 POSSIBLY NO MEETING TODAY

Don't forget to check the Troop Calendar, the Camp tab, and the GSNETX event calendar for other fun Girl Scout activities! (GSNETX event calendar available in "links" section of column to the right, Camp info available in the same section or in tab at the top of page.)
