Wishlist

Items do not need to be new, hand-me-downs in working condition are fine by me. Here are some major wishlist items:

Meeting Location: 10/1: I need help finding a permanent meeting location for our troop. I no longer live in the area and your help would be appreciated.  We meet most Monday nights at 6:30pm, but having the space 6-8 would provide set-up, clean-up, and playtime afterward. I am also open to meeting every other Monday, as I have troop leader meetings in our current time slot as well. We need a room with tables and chairs, where we can close ourselves off and not disrupt whatever else may be going on in the building. We also need restroom access. It would be great if there was also an outdoor area we could use. I will continue to bring our materials to and from. Ideas include churches, schools and businesses with meeting rooms available at no charge. I can provide paperwork proving our 501(c)3 status if necessary.

Snacks and Drinks: (10/1- We currently have plenty of snacks. Please remember to bring your own drink to each meeting.) We have snack time at every meeting. We ask parents to bring in items at their convenience, to be stored in the troop "pantry." I will transport the snacks to each meeting, so they don't get forgotten. To discourage waste, we ask each girl to bring her own reusable water bottle to each meeting. If snacks/drinks are not already in individual packages, please bring service ware- like spoons or cups or whatever the item calls for.  We ask that food items be pantry safe, unless you have informed me that you are bring a "that day" snack, like birthday cake, pizza, or a jug of milk. (Don't forget the cups!)

First Aid Kit:  (8/1- We have a First Aid Kit. We could use some filler items.) A small kit to be taken to all meetings and thrown in my backpack for field trips. Kit will hold GS emergency insurance paperwork, emergency contact list for entire troop, plus mini-ointments, bandaids, an ace bandage, cool pack- all of which are also part of our wishlist.

Craft Kits: Kits are made from empty juice mix tubes (like Wyler's or Market Pantry.) Each tube holds one pair of kid scissors, a pen, and a bottle of glue, and conveniently has a lid. Awesome. We need enough tubs, scissors, and glue for 6 kids. Girl Scouts use a lot of glue, so take advantage when you see it at a back-to-school sale.

Disposable Dinnerware/etc.: Ziplock baggies, paper plates, plastic cups/utensils, napkins, paper towels, plastic table cloths. We have a lot of food related events, and also do plenty of crafts requiring table protection and clean-up. I use cheap 99cent party table cloths for messy crafts like papier-mache because we can just toss them out, and the nicer plastic cloths (super cheap, off-season, holiday ones) for other crafts. It's also nice to have some plain ones (preferably green) for ceremonies, parties, and cookie season.

Large, wheeled, tub with handles and a lid: Something similar to this. It is rare that troops are allowed to store their materials at their meeting location. Each week the tub will be filled with our meeting supplies for the day, and hauled to and from my house/car/meeting location/etc. The tub is also incredibly useful during cookie season, and when we go camping.
