Project Earth 2012: Forever Green — Reduce Waste. This is an optional patch program where girls create a project using either plastic water bottles or plastic shopping bags. The project should have a local or global impact. Project Earth will be worked on away from troop meetings. Girls can participate individually or with a Girl Scout friend. To be eligible for the patch you must follow the Project Earth link above and follow the 5 listed steps. For ideas about what is expected of the girls while they work on their projects, go here (it's the project registration form- but don't fill out the form until she has completed her project.) If you do not follow steps 1-5, you will not be eligible for the patch. You must print the confirmation e-mail to be able to pick up your patch. One of the steps is taking the GS Forever Green Pledge. Girl Scouts, their friends, and families are invited to take this on-line pledge to do something good for the environment. You can take the pledge anytime between now and April 22. Projects must be completed and registered by April 22. Girls who participate are invited tell us about their projects at the 4/23 meeting.
