Another blurry flyer I copied from the SU website... You can get a better view by clicking on the image, but here's a summary of the information:
Service Unit 170's Awards Ceremony honors local Girl Scouts, Leaders, Volunteers, and Community Members who have supported the Girl Scouting Movement in the past year. The event is Friday April 20 at 6pm. Troop 4816 does not have any girls being recognized, but it is likely they will know several of the Scouts there. Next year we will have girls being recognized for earning their Bronze Awards, Community Service Awards, and 5 year membership pins. You know she'll want a crowd then, so support local Scouts now.
There is also a need for volunteers (Scout and adult) for setting up, decorating the church and stage, bringing refreshments, serving refreshments, supervising children, and cleaning up. There is also a Girl Scout themed cake contest- and I believe the cakes are auctioned to help meet our SU's Family Partnership goal.** Cakes can be made by individuals, families, or troops. Wouldn't that be fun?
It is also possible that Scouts volunteering at this event will earn credit towards program level awards.
There is not a cost associated with this event. However, they need an accurate headcount. If you/your child are interested in supporting local Scouts, please let Mandy know by Saturday March 31. If you are unable to RSVP by then, and would still like to attend- or just volunteer- please let me know as soon as you can so I can contact the event coordinator. Volunteers are always appreciated.
** If your family will be making a Family Partnership donation, please pay it through our Service Unit (170) so we get the proper credit. Surpassing the goal results in more funding for local Scouts.
