Monday March 12, 2012: the 100th Birthday of Girl Scouting!
Season passes may be used for entrance to the park. The park will be open to the general public. The $25 tickets are no longer available. Some rides are subject to closing. Please dress according to the weather.Each group will be going separatley. I have the tickets- Drivers, please pickup your group's tickets and t-shirts prior to Monday. You can get to Six Flags whenever you want, and leave when you wish. You can choose for your group to bring cash for food, or to bring a sack lunch and sack dinner to retrieve from your car. The schedule is listed below. We plan to meet as a troop at noon to wander together and attend the special Girl Scout events. Our siser troop from Austin will also be attending this fun Six Flags adventure!
Current Schedule:
Park Hours: 10am-10pm
10am Doors Open. The Looney Tunes characterrs will do a welcoming event if you get there as the gates are opening.
Noon Troop 4816 will meet near the fountain just inside the front gate. The girls can decide what we want to do as a group, or if we want to break up or whatnot.
3pm Flash Mob, at Main Gate. Registration was full to participate, but our sister troop (1563 from Austin) will be dancing and we can watch!
6-8pm Girl Scout Birthday Celebration at Music Mill Amphitheater. We want to be there on time, as they are giving special bracelets out as you enter and we want yo make sure they don't run out:
- Ceremony begins with concert by Hayley Orrantia and a special video welcome from Laura Bush
- 7:12pm Mass Renewal of Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Girl Scout Evening concludes with a concert by Sara Hickman
What to Wear:
- Troop shirts. Mandy has them. Moms who would like to purchase one- they are $6, but you must CALL me in advance so I can make it for you. Grandmas that are going can go to Walmart and get a solid turquoise Faded Glory or Hanes V-Neck t-shirt for less than $5. Boys that are going are invited to wear blue shirts to match the rest of us. We're trying to keep from losing each other in the crowd.
- Comfortable walking shoes.
- Pants or shorts, maybe a light jacket- please check the weather.
- Sunscreen might be a good idea.
What to Bring:
Money for food for souvenirs. If you check in at Customer Service they might still offer the $10 burger meal pass from the Girl Scout flier.You can bring a picnic lunch/cooler to leave in your car.
Adults should bring cell phones in case we decide to break into groups/rejoin, etc.
Some sort of small waterproof bag to put your money and cell phone in.
