We'll be marching in the Rowlett Holiday Parade! We will be in the section honoring the 100th Year of Girl Scouting. All girls should wear khaki bottoms, a white top, and comfortable walking shoes. It will likely be chilly so dress in layers- a white sweater/sweatshirt, with a white t-shirt underneath is advised. A green Santa hat might be fun, as well. :) If you do not have khaki bottoms, other pants will suffice. If you have your vest you may wear it as well.

Troop 4816 is NUMBER 16 in the line up.We have to do two check-ins: one with Cecilia Carriere of Girl Scouts, and one with the Rowlett Exchange Club volunteer.

Parade lineup begins at 8:30, but I think if we meet around 9/9:15 we should be fine. There are only a few of us going. We will meet somewhere on Melcer Rd- keep your cell phone on! The front of the Parade will be located at Melcer and Rowlett Rd.  All vehicles must enter from Martin Rd and Lakeview Pkwy (Hwy 66).  Only vehicles participating in the Parade will be allowed to enter the staging area on Melcer.  All other vehicles should park at the DART Park and Ride.  Parents dropping off children should park and walk your children to their spot. The parade begins at 10am. It ends at Herfurth Park (4601 Centennial
Rowlett, TX 75088) , where there will be a Holiday Festival. The Exchange club website lists the parade as 10am-1pm, but I assume that covers festival time as well.  

We are supposed to carry our troop banner- which we don't have yet. I will see what I can come up with.We are also allowed to hand out candy- here's a great way to get rid of your leftover Halloween stash!

Who can Participate: All girls interested in participating must be registered/paid Girl Scouts. You must also RSVP to Mandy.  If I don't know you are coming I can't tell you where to meet us. Sorry- Tagalongs (siblings, friends, etc.) are not allowed to be in the parade with us, but are certainly welcome to watch the parade.
