The girls are currently working on their Fabric and Yarn Arts badge. They have earned a few basic embroidery stitches and will soon be learning weaving techniques.
Upcoming events include the Night Hike (Sat Nov 17, evening) and the Cookie Rally/Skating Party (which has limited space so hopefully we'll get in...)
The Service Unit registrar should be contacting parents soon to see what you are looking for in your new troop. I let her know the girls would like to stay together. For everyone's best interests, we would like to have it all settled prior to Cookie Season. I will continue meeting with the girls until they have new troops. I am certified to go to events, even without being their troop leader, so I believe I can still be their chaperone for events we book now but don't attend until later. This actually works to our advantage, in that the girls can make plans for their remaining money and get to do a few more fun activities together, while going to Troop Meetings with their new troop- as long as we book our events before the troop is officially dissolved.
I will still be the lead on the Adopt A Grandparent service project the girls came up with last Cookie Season. It has gotten pushed back repeatedly, but will be carried out as soon as I can arrange everything. I will oversee plans, alert the 3 of you, and open it up to the Service Unit in case other girls want to participate with us. This project will help the girls earn their Bronze Awards- the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can receive. For full requirements, check the "Handbook" section of her Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting binder.
